E é uma emoção a viagem até lá, com muitas descobertas surpreendentes. Sedona é, certamente, uma delas. Uma cidade com uma enorme beleza natural, tanto pelas paisagens cheias de árvores e vistas panorâmicas, como pelas formações naturais de areias vermelhas. Aqui existe uma igreja absolutamente original e única; pois é construída diretamente na montanha, como se natureza e construção – e quem sabe, até, Deus - fossem um só elemento.
Flagstaff é outra pequena maravilha. Uma vila histórica situada e rodeada por montanhas, e ponto de passagem da eterna Route 66. Esta vila preservou, aliás, uma parte original desta icónica estrada. Toda a cidade, com os seus edifícios e monumentos mais antigos, e as montanhas ao fundo, parece o cenário de um filme. Vale a pena a passagem!
O caminho prossegue, até porque nos Estados Unidos da América, as pequenas distâncias são enormes, com o objetivo de chegar a um alojamento que sirva de base a uma estadia que permita conhecer esta região de forma um pouco mais aprofundada.
O ambiente é maravilhoso! Os alces são presença constante e, ainda que selvagens, já se habituaram aos humanos. Quanto ao Grand Canyon, cumpre bem o que promete: é grandioso e emocionante!
