Caminhando para sul, o encontro está marcado com o Parque Nacional Isalo, que é diferente do habitual, muito mais árido e rochoso. E embora seja um parque natural, com tudo o que há para ver e fazer, mais parece um parque de diversões.
Trilhos para percorrer são muitos; rochas, montanhas e desfiladeiros não faltam e fazem lembrar os filmes de cowboys; piscinas naturais são todas apetecíveis; riachos e cursos de água também marcam presença; e os lémures, pois, com certeza.
Com tudo isto, talvez seja melhor acampar no parque. Se ficou surpreendido, é isso mesmo: este parque está preparado para receber campistas, facilitando assim a visita de todos os que adoram estar em plena natureza, sem luxos de conforto, mas com o luxo de ter as noites estreladas sobre a cabeça e os sons da natureza para adormecer.
Aqui os protagonistas são mesmo as formações rochosas que nos mostram como somos pequenos e efémeros. Aqueles blocos de rocha calcária e arenito estão ali há milhões de anos, intocados, apenas erodidos pelo lento passar do tempo. É um espanto!
Também aqui poderá observar lémures, pois há-os de diversas espécies: brancos, de causa anelada... E com aqueles olhos muito abertos e atentos, e umas patas que mais parecem mãos como as nossas, estas engraçadas criaturas tinham mesmo de se tornar bonecos da Disney.
Para se refrescar há várias piscinas naturais, sendo a Cascata das Ninfas uma das mais conhecidas, e onde se concentram pássaros, borboletas e outros animais que ali vão ver as vistas. Se o cenário é magnífico, as águas são ainda melhores, transparentes e deliciosas. Também as piscinas Negra e Azul são lugares fantásticos para dar um mergulho e saborear a natureza em todo o seu esplendor.
Todos estes passeios por montes e vales revelam-se encantadores e deslumbrantes, sendo a cereja no topo do bolo assistir a um nascer ou pôr do sol. São momentos únicos, os daquele instante em que é possível acreditar que todo o mundo parou para ver a chegada ou a partida do astro-rei. Magnífico!
Ainda em pleno parque, mas com um acesso não muito fácil, pois exige pelo menos quatro dias de caminho (entre ida e volta), está a Gruta dos Portugueses, que é a confirmação de que os portugueses chegaram, estiveram e deixaram marca mesmo em todo o lado. Incrível!
